Our oldest son is a chef with a culinary degree and worked at quite a few 4 star restaurants in Dallas before moving to California where he is now an Executive Chef there so we very know what a nice restaurant is supposed to be. My wife ended up ordering the small filet and it came out with just a filet sitting in the middle of a plate - NO presentation at all which we would expect more from this type of restaurant. So with a very limited menu to begin with and not having two of the items was very disappointing. I wanted the lamb chops, and here again they did not have them either. My wife wanted trout and he informed us they did not have it but substituted it with short ribs? How do you substitute a seafood dish with a meat dish. What a disappointment - we dressed accordingly if not a little more only to have everyone dressed around us in shorts, blue jeans, and t-shirts. We go to many 4 Star restaurants in Dallas and was expecting the same here when reading the dress code as dressy casual and the menu. My wife & I have been going to Choctaw Casino for years and finally decided to give 1832 Steakhouse a try.
